Schizaphis scirpi (KITTEL): STARY, 1961, on Typha angustifolia, Czechoslovakia. , Czechoslovakia. Host-specificity: Apparently this specIes is quite polyphagous, but it especially attacks aphids of the subfamily Myzinae, and aphids which prefer cruciferaceous and chenopodiaceous plants. GENUS DIAERETUS FORSTER Diaeretus FORSTER 1862, Ver. Naturh. Ver. Preuss. Rheinl. 19:249 (Type species: Aphidius leucopterus HALIDAY). Literary Data: STARY, 1960, Acta Soc. Ent. cechosl. 57:239-40 (revision). This genus is related to Pauesia QUILlS by the areolation of the propodeum, but differs from the latter by characters in wing venation, effaced notaulices on mesoscutum and by characters of the female genitalia.

Radial abscissa 1 longer than abscissa 2. Abdomen lanceolate. Tergite 1 slender, 3 times as long as wide, slightly dilating backwards, with central longitudinal carina, rugose at the fore part and nearly smooth at the apex, convex, with sparse hairs. Coloration: Head brown, face, lower part of genae, clypeus and mouthparts yellow. Antennae brown, apex of pedicel and narrow base of F1 yellowish. Thorax brown, prothorax light brown. Wings hyaline, venation brown. 25 Legs brown, trochanters yellow.

Genitalia as figured (Fig. 35). Coloration: Black. Base of antennae (scape, pedicel and F1) and mouthparts more or less yellowish-brown. Legs yellow to yellowish-brown, sometimes coxae, femora and tarsi darker. Tergite I more or less yellowish-brown to brown; sometimes center of abdomen yellowish-brown, remainder brown. 2 mm. Male: Apical and pre apical antennal segments distinctly separated. Otherwise as described for female except for sexual differences. General distribution: Australian region, Palearctic region (Europe, Asia Minor, Central Asia, USSR (Primorye), South Korea and Japan), Oriental region, (Hong Kong and Taiwan), Nearctic region (USA and Canada).
